Lyd Havens is a queer poet, performer and editor originally from Tucson, Arizona. Their work has previously been published or is forthcoming in Ploughshares, Tinderbox Poetry Journal, Glass: a Journal of Poetry, and Cosmonauts Avenue, among others. Videos of their poetry performances have been posted on YouTube channels such as Button Poetry, Write About Now, and Slamfind.
The winner of the 2018 ellipsis... Poetry Prize, and a finalist for the 2019 Brett Elizabeth Jenkins Poetry Prize, Lyd is the author of the chapbook I Gave Birth to All the Ghosts Here (Nostrovia! Press, 2018). They live in Boise, Idaho, where they are pursuing a BFA in Creative Writing with a minor in History from Boise State University. Since 2017, they have been the Communications Director for Big Tree Arts, Inc., as well as a co-organizer for the Boise Poetry Slam. They were born on their due date, and have been intensely punctual to everything since.
